Joseph Diaz Jr. tried to pretend that the disgusting gash above his left eye wasn't there throughout the final 10-plus rounds of his fight against Tevin Farmer. That ghastly battle scar is impossible to ignore now that Diaz has to figure out when to grant Farmer the immediate rematch Diaz owes the former champion as per terms of their contracts. That clause states that their rematch must take place within six months of their 12-round, 130-pound title fight Thursday night in Miami, but Diaz realizes he might need more time for that deep, wide cut to heal.

Good call. Diaz deserves a lower-level fight and a hometown defense in LA. Walter Sornboi would be a good matchup.

No reason for a rematch JoJo dominated Farmer w/t a huge disadvantage since the 2nd round of the fight. Time for Farmer to move up to 135 both Hearn and Golden Boy have a deep stable of 135 lbs i.e. Haney, Garcia, Campbell, Tenajara, Machado just to name a few.

Farmer might be the one who needs the time. He looks like he has a problem with turrets syndrome...he was twitching and moving in a very uncomfortable way during that fight.
