  • Comments Thread For: Joseph Parker is Leaning Towards Fury in Rematch Versus Wilder

Like most of the boxing world, Joseph Parker is very interested in the February 22nd Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury pay-per-view showdown. The fight takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is a rematch of their December, 2018 fight that ended in a split draw.

Fury and Parker are friends, so he’s not going to say otherwise.

Just like anybody with some affiliation with Wilder is going to say he will win.

The first fight was obviously a rigged joke to set up more fights. No way to pick a winner without inside information. If it was a straight fight Wilder by KO early.

I don;t htin so at all.

If you looked at wilders past opponents he was blasting, they were mostly in the 6'2 6'4 range. and not the best moevment

I think fury's height+movment took a lot of momentum off wilders crazy power, I mean, he was punching down most prior fights.

I also think the KD was overrated and Fury was not that hurt. He got up off the deck and looked fresh, even landing some nice shots on wilder.

If someone was KO'd they just couldn't do that. I thought Fury won and it was not that hard too score

This is possily the hardest foght to predict since...well, aj vs ruiz i, that was difficult to predict, but in a different way (Ruiz was heavily underestimated).

This is hard since they are two totally different boxers.

One is a crazy puncher. The other is a fine technician. Both are huge.

And they are my 2 favourite fighters of today.

Parker is friends with Fury not Wilder so much he celebrated his win over Hughie in his locker room directly after so don't buy into his prediction however Fury will win and most likely by stoppage ,if Wilder survives an aggressive Fury he will gain a moral victory in a UD loss .

Wilder is the most hyped overrated protected fighter of all time. To say he is a poor man’s Gerry Cooney both in the ring and politically is an understatement.

The boxing establishment knows it must produce a black heavyweight hope, and it’s been 20 years since Hasim Rahman held the unified titles, that’s 20 years we are talking! Wilder is the establishment hope and his fans are a great example of that.

I'm not so sure about that statement . I was around in the Cooney era and remember everyone calling him a glass jawed bum even though he gave Holmes one of his toughest fights while still being relatively green ,that should remind people how fans behave in boxing , only now we have other guys in the spotlight to put in that spot ,its a shame boxing fans are least intelligent when it comes to realistic views ..

On the night of February 22, Fury will be looking a lot like Gerry Cooney. Specifically, the version who fought George Foreman in 1990. And just like Cooney, he'll be able to walk out of the arena with his chin held high. There's no shame in losing to one of the all-time greats.
