Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor Will Not Rush Decision To Select New Trainer

Josh Taylor says he will take his time before selecting new trainer, but despite having had try-outs with both Adam Booth and Ben Davison, he has not ruled out working with an American trainer. The WBA and IBF super-lightweight champion was left without a trainer after his split from Cyclone Promotions, the company run by Barry McGuigan, as he was trained by McGuigan's son, Shane.

^ Barry McGuigan before twitter, HA!

What was wrong with Barry McQuigan complimenting another Blue-collar promoter for his victory over a corporate giant on twitter?

Josh Taylor, your deflection of running out on Cyclone-Promotions and selling-out, I consider it a narcissistic abuse tactic ; stop assigning blame for your mistakes on others -- especially those who helped you reach the top.

Josh Taylor, YOU ARE A JUNKIE-RACIST-DISHONORABLE-SCUMBAG!

He might as well train in the UK for a while. If this goes to court he won't have to travel.

Tony Sims would be a good match for him.

Taylor in a very tricky predicament right now.
Interesting but he needs to be careful about making enemies in Ireland.
            The Irish don't "mess about".

Should go with Booth, but Booth seems to have a lot of fighters.

Surprised he’s considering Davison. I understand BJS working with Davison as Saunders is the kind of fighter that probably needs to be around his friends and enjoy training that way. Fury worked with Davison through the Saunders connection but has moved on. Even Saunders left him but has gone back.

But i’d never had expected any real top fighters that are not friends with Davison to be seeking him out.

I do think Ben is knowledgable, he’s been on TV breaking down fights really well but it’s not just that. I think you need experienced people who know how to run world class camps. That was John Fury’s criticism of things, not Ben’s knowledge but the way things in camp were run.

I agree, I think he should go with Booth. Checking out Gallagher or maybe ingle just to c if they click isn't a bad idea tho. Now if he comes to America he should definitely go with roach or maybe Atlas.

Not sure about Joe Gallagher, don't think any of his fighters are very good or have very good styles.
