Comments Thread For: Ennis' Manager: Fight Against Crawford Would Be One-Sided

ATLANTIC CITY Cameron Dunkin is as informed as anyone about Terence Crawford's greatness. Dunkin was Crawford's co-manager throughout the three-division champion's ascent from unknown prospect to arguably the best boxer, pound-for-pound, in the sport. As much respect as Dunkin maintains for Crawford's capabilities, Dunkin is convinced that the unusually talented welterweight he currently promotes is ready right now to beat Crawford.

Everything takes time. Ennis might be good but he’s still green. They stumble that run fast. It’s premature for him to face Crawford, he might be damaged for life. Boxing is an unforgiving sport.

"Dunkin doesn’t expect Crawford to give Jaron Ennis a title shot at any point in the foreseeable future. Ennis, who’s the WBO’s 13th-ranked contender for Crawford’s 147-pound championship, would be a high-risk, low-reward type of opponent for Crawford (36-0, 27 KOs)."

Now that Bes***** popped for PEDs, and Crawford doesn't want to fight Porter, maybe Crawford would reconsider? It's looking more like Texiera @ 154, but even Texiera has been ordered to fight Castano. Bud is in a horrible situation! Might wanna get the big bag for Danny Garcia or Regis Prograis?

These promoters/managers will just say anything to promote whatever fighter their affiliated with. As much as I love Ennis as a prospect, he is exactly that a prospect atm. Ffs Bakhityar was landing solid check hooks on him. Crawford would slaughter him if they fought this year.

Too soon for Ennis, gets hit too easily. Hope they don't rush him into a Bud fight. It would be Charlo/Lubin all over again. Just clout chase as you do.

I don’t doubt Dunkin’s enthusiasm for the kid, but let’s take things one step at a time...and one last thing - you might want to keep him away from Crawford for the time being.

Ennis has god gifted talent but not ready Crawford yet he needs to keep stepping up one fight at time and if he fights 3 more fights this year against better opponents maybe a title shot first half of next year

Dude was getting hit flush to the head by a short fat guy. Now he's ready to take on top talent?
