Jaime Munguia waged a war over 11 rounds this past Saturday in San Antonio. Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan and Munguia traded several shots over the course of the fight with the younger Munguia's doing most of the damage. O'Sullivan was able to withstand the punishment up until the 11th round when he finally hit the canvas. At the same time his corner through in the towel which gave Munguia the knockout victory.

Munguia needs about two step up fights at 160 to be ready for the champions.
Boo Boo will eat him up if they rush him.

Any of the current champs will eat Mungia alive. He's way too green takes way too much punishment and forgets the basics every other round

Used to be a huge fan of Oscar the fighter. However I can’t even read a quote from Oscar the promoter with out boiling over. He is always either a cracky cheerleader or a cracky hater. Spike O’Sullivan was the fight Mungia needed? Well how about the fans? Did we need this sh@t? Either way the guy lies like a no legged horse.

The eye ball test does not lie. Mungia is not that dude. in addition we see the set up. Mungia is on his way to being a feeder fish for an In House fight with Canelo. That fight will play out worst than JCC vs Canelo. Not competitive at all. But at least Mungia can cash out big and go back to 154 to keep his title hostage. That way they can justify the next Spike O’Sullivan by saying Mungia just fought Canelo why throw him in with a top fighter. This stuff is getting way too predictable. Mungia just needs to fight someone relevant at 154 or drop the damn belt.

I like this kid but he's not ready for the top 5 yet. I say wait another year. Get him used to the new weight class. 2 more fights before any big names.

No doubt about it. He trades way too often with his chin straight up ready to be countered. He's got some decent fundamentals, but lacks the fluidity, footwork and craft to compete with the top MWs any time soon. Lots of holes right now, but hopefully more time with EM can close them. For now, even 2nd Tier guys rough him up IMO. Lemieux, as bad as he is, might kill him.

OLDH working this cub slowly as it's should be. Dennis Hogan rematch or The Hornet should be up next.
