Even Breadman realizes that most boxing fans are hella ******. Especially some of the ones that post on here that are promoter and network cheerleaders instead of true boxing fans.
Glad I'm not the only one who sees that.... 😄

Yes, but he is also a boxing analyst (thus his column on this site).

Great commentary on Tony Zale, Bread really shines when it comes to historical boxing context and of course boxing mechanics.

I am now curious as I had heard the name Tony Zale mentioned in documentaries yet didn’t know much about him. I need to watch some tapes on his full fights to take in the critiques on display.

I also like the commentary on how race played out in boxing. Just wish we could get to a place where it would be meaningful and accurate to say all of that is in the past. Everyone cringes when they hear how racist things used to be but many can’t resist taking part in the racism of their day. We aren’t accountable for the past but we damn sure our accountable for today.

Top Rank is a great start for many boxers careers. They are politically entrenched in the sport, TR has the strongest talent scouts. Top Rank also has the best match makers “for...matching fighters to enhance their boxing Career with out taking a loss.” PBC just seems to make the best fights. One is great for a fighters career the other is great for the sport.

So would I take a top black talent to Top Rank, absolutely to kick off their career. Would I stay loyal to them Hell no. Top Rank does not treat all races of talent the same and it doesn’t take a genius to notice what is obvious.

Who in the hell would put a guy in charge of their uber talented black fighter who said they aren’t sellable at a time they were outselling everyone else?

The only reason would be to earn steady money and maintain control of your fighter investment. But for exceptional talents like Bud he simply needs more.

In closing, I love how some of these casuals say absolutely nothing of worth ever, can’t win a boxing debate to save their lives but try to ride a knowledgeable guy like Bread’s coat tails. We see you also.
