In fact a convincing victory over GGG, helps his chances for FOTD.
Instead, Canelo ducks GGG, gives up his Mexican Holiday and waits 6 months to fight a +300 underdog, who looked like a KO waiting to happen in his last fight.
It just don't make no sense, unless...
Because he ducked him for a few years and waited for him to get old he fought an older GGG heading downward in his career and went life and death with him and was only able to squeeze out a tie and a close dec win both of which were all around highly controversial.
He knows that beating up an even older GGG would make him look like a real cherry pick. I’m glad he moved on we all should too.

High risk, low reward. He got away with two dodgy decisions so why go back for another fight

Again, let me remind you the history of catchweights and why they were made! A weight that justifies two distinct classes. It wasn’t even a case like Ward vs Dawson ffs. Canelo was by then a seasoned Middleweight. Everyone on this forum HOPED FOR NO CATCHWEIGHT. Which would’ve ideally meant 170-172.

Now all you betches cry for a 10lb morning rule that even Loma diehards acknowledged for the Rigo fight. You guys don’t know shet about boxing if you think the limit is the same thing as an IBF rule.

Kova got his 175. Kova could be any weight he wanted after the morning weigh in.

          Again, pimping these excuses.

For a second there I thought you were talking about Canelo vs GGG history

Industry respect Dave Moretti and Trella so it being dodgy is just casual theory

He is not confident he can beat GGG in a third fight. He did not win the first two fights in the court of public opinion. He knew he could beat Jacobs, Fielding and Kovalev so that is who he fought instead.

Not sure how he's not confident in beating Golovkin now. G looked so damn old against Direv

Canelo beat the #3 ranked middleweight and the #2 ranked LHW. He will win foty and he deserves fotd as well, though politics will likely stop him from winning the latter.
GGG took an easy fight with Rolls instead of a harder fight with Andrade because he expected to be fighting Canelo in less than 3 months and didn't want a hard fight so close to another hard fight. He did not know at that time that Canelo was going to chicken out of a third fight. He is fighting his mandatory next. He has to to keep his title. He isn't a protected Franchise champion like his royal highness Canelo.

Seems like your focus is to be FOTD, his isn't.

And the truth is, he doesn't like all the crap GGG said of him after the PED/Meat incident and doesn't not want to give him another payday.
