Comments Thread For: Hearn Would Not Want Joshua To Re-Open Fury's Cut in Sparring

Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, is not exactly sure if his superstar boxer will make good on a recent statement - where Joshua offered up his services as a sparring partner for domestic rival Tyson Fury. Fury is preparing for a scheduled rematch with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder on February 22 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

This is all marketing and Hearn is desperately trying to keep the attention on AJ, who's been very unexciting in his last bout.

Yeah, just trying to keep the unified heavyweight champion of the world relevant. Now if that don’t beat all 😂😂

Yeah, only selling 1.6 mil ppv in uk and only just over 1 mil from dazn watching too. Pathetic numbers.

This is standard procedure for him and Arum. They take shots at each other's events and downplay the significance of each other's fighters, especially when there's an upcoming event! Wilder vs. Fury II is THE fight of the HW division! Nothing Hearn can do about that. Still, I think Joshua vs. Usyk will make more money than Wilder vs. Fury II.
