Comments Thread For: Charlo-Harrison Rematch on Fox Peaks at 2.233 Million Viewers

Jermell Charlo and Tony Harrison gave boxing fans plenty of reasons to remain engaged throughout their title fight rematch, and with the final ratings to prove it. The thrilling 154-pound sequel which topped the December 21 edition of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Fox drew an average audience of 2.223 million viewers, landing as the second most-viewed boxing match of 2019 according to Nielsen Media Research. The year-end Fox telecast peaked at 2.233 million viewers, coming at the end of Charlo's revenge-fueled 11th round stoppage of Harrison to avenge his long career defeat.

Charlo-Harrison peaked higher than D Garcia, Porter and Hurd-Williams.
Only falling behind Thurman. That's major considering the first fight was on the under card of his brother vs Korobov.

Both of them sold that fight.

I just don't understand people who argue with me about what's best for boxing in America. The numbers don't lie. Boxing on network TV is the best thing for the growth of the sport. Not an app. There isn't a debate.

Saturday’s telecast was the 10th and final of the year for Fox prime, which averaged 1.403 million viewers per telecast. The figure is up 12% from the series average one year ago—although with all but one of the telecasts in 2018 coming via a separate arrangement prior to PBC scoring a lucrative, long-term deal with Fox Sports—and also well outpacing any other boxing platform on the year.

By comparison, PBC on Fox performed 103% better than the year-long average for Top Rank Boxing on ESPN, which averaged 692,000 viewers per telecast, and also 35% better than the average audience for UFC’s first year of its Fight Night series on ESPN.

They know it, a blind man could see it.....they just hate seeing a coloured bloke as the architect. This is multi-generational hate he is dealing with. Him being in charge of it all is apart of a social wave they see that makes them feel they are somehow “victims”.....ie the progress of a particular group in the USA makes them feel like “victims”....a very sad pathetic but sinister mindset at work and you can see it the live long day on any post about PBC or its fighters especially if they too come from your group

They also don't understand DAZN isn't in the boxing business. They're using boxing as a means to accomplish something else. If they're able to accomplish they'll do the same this to boxing as HBO did because it's a drain on their budget. You think an investor is going to come in and continue paying what they're paying? No. They're coming in to cut costs and increase the bottom line.

Harrison sold the **** outta that fight, but these numbers are fantastic. Really helps that the card turned out really good with all competitive fights. Hope this continues.
