Comments Thread For: Hearn: I Feel Canelo Will Fight Either Andrade, Smith or Saunders

It's becoming a bit more clear why Canelo Alvarez vacated the WBO light heavyweight title earlier this week. According to Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn, Alvarez will continue campaigning in his career as a super middleweight, likely against a selection of three champions in his stable on Cinco De Mayo weekend in 2020.

The best opponent for Canelo, on Cinco de Mayo 2020, is the WBC Super Middleweight Champion, David Benavidez! Make It Happen!

Spin the wheel Vanna! Down for all three, despite only one coming off a performance that wasn't a complete turd

Canelo said he likes "challenges." Out of these 3 names not only is Andrade the most difficult fight but he's also had the better most recent performance against (what I would think on paper) was perceived to be the tougher opponent out of those 3.

But unfortunately he won't be the one fighting Canelo next.

No way. Benavidez Is still growing. We need that fight in 3 years when canelo Is 32 and Benavidez 25. That will be as close as prime vs prime as possible. Benavidez Is good but not great. Yet!!!!

So I’m assuming Charlo is gonna declined the one fight offer Eddie made to him to fight Andrade. Can’t say I’m surprised. (Steve Kim reported it)

I agree. Not going to be disappointed with any of those fights.

Andrade went life and death with guys who beat his opponents easy like Sergiy and Jacobs....
