Comments Thread For: Porter On Crawford Fight: Bob Arum Is Jumping The Gun

Shawn Porter has gained universal recognition as the one welterweight today truly willing to take on all comers. So, don't mistake his disinterest in recent claims made by Bob Arum, Terence Crawford's Hall of Fame promoter of making a fight as the former two-time welterweight titlist not entertaining the idea. Rather, the timing and the sincerity of the suggestion is what leaves him skeptical.

It's alright, Shawn. That's how NSB and others work - they didn't rate you at all before you fought Spence despite you consistently showing to be a tough competitor against the upper echelon.

Porter is a rugged fighter. T. Duckford is ver talented but he will need to be swinging the kitchen sink to keep Porter off of him🥊

He didn't say he wouldn't fight him. He said that it's not up to Arum. Which is essentially true.

He also said it's mighty funny that they weren't talking about the fight until after he'd lost to Spence.

Horn took Pac's best shot yet Crawford was the one that dropped him. Porter will get dropped as well. In fact it's in Porter's best interest to fight scared like he did against Ugas because if he tries that football **** he is going to get clipped like Horn, Diaz, Molina, Beltran and all the other mother****ers that tried to rush in.

What he's saying is since they couldn't use Spence to sell this fight they're using him. Before the accident Bob had no interest in this fight. Said Porter vs. Crawford wouldn't sell. So what's changed? The only thing changed is Spence got into an accident which has nothing to do with Bob's original reason for not wanting the fight.

Porter said prior to the Spence fight in an interview that he and Crawford was good friends..
So essentially what he is saying....is that Crawford and Him will have a sit down and have a discussion....
Arum or Haymon is not going to make that decision for them...
Give Porter credit for Possibly Entertaining the idea of fighting Crawford when Spence.... Thurman.... Pacquaio and Garcia is Ducking Crawford.......

I would want to see it because hopefully it could pave the way for more Top rank - Haymond match ups. Porter would give crawford a good fight too, really make him work for 12.

Been thinking Arum is about to die for the last 10 years now and it still aint happened. He outlived Pac's career at this point. But when he goes hopefully whoever runs top rank will be willing to make fights outside top rank.
