  • For anyone who doubts Andy ruiz's ability and talent as a fighter

    Put this into perspective.

For coming in as the second heaviest champion at 6 foot 2, looking like absolute trash. I mean let's be real here, he looked like complete garbage...

He faced the most determined, the most focused, Anthony Joshua we've probably ever seen since the klitschko fight.. and he had him fighting scared, hurt him a couple times and went the full distance.

Compare that to povetkin, who doing his absolute best got knocked the **** out. Just like 95% of Aj's other opponents.

It's always been the same story with ruiz. For the past decade. He's a talented, dangerous fighter... if he puts the work in.

Putting the work in and remaining disciplined has ALWAYS been his problem, but his talent and ability has never been in question.

Meh. If you don’t put the work in, you’re just a fat loser who screwed yourself.

Ruiz will not get another shot.

      I swear a 225 lb. highly-motivated Ruiz would be a war machine.

He'd be like a David Tua with faster hands, but we'll never see it happen.

Yeah, that's the frustrating part about this. He should've been in better shape than the first one and we would've gotten one hell of a match again. Ruiz clearly knew that AJ (mentioned it several times himself) was going to slim down and try to box on the move and did just that. Here comes Ruiz, hardly trained and fat as fook, and just plods around.

Watching hes lifestyle vlogs, I seen it coming, worried about his life and not AJ in December

Good move by AJ taking the immediate rematch

Andy achieving championship belts, history and the millions what he always wanted from his hard work had finally paid off, hopefully he regathers himself and can challenge AJ again, he has the skills to beat AJ but needs sharpen and focus in camp

He will definitely get another shot because that wasn't a good look yesterday by AJ and Ruiz

I'm thinking AJ will fight Pulev next and WBO will call Ruiz v Usyk for the vacant title

Joshua stopped Povetkin because he actually came to fight..With Ruiz he landed solid shots here and there but never tried to take him out as he was afraid of getting hit back...Ruiz is very limited and honestly not good at all...No need to make him any more then what he is man

guy was fighting a taller guy and just followed him around the ring..now head movement, no jab ...just plodding...How his corner made no adjustments is beyond me

He is good, no heavyweight was rushing to fight him before this, and none will be after.

He should have trained a lot harder for the rematch. He should have come in 20 pounds lighter not 15 pounds fatter. He should have trained hard enough to throw over 500 punches instead of the 250 punches he did throw and maybe he would have won. He has great potential but he let himself down by not training like a maniac for the most important fight of his career. He made AJ's job much easier.

"Pound for pound" should be Ruiz's new nickname.

if ruiz was much less fatter hed be da best
if ruiz had a rocket launcher and body armor hed be the best
if ruiz was 7 foot tall with a 105inch reach hed beat aj
if ruiz was better den aj then hed be betta and win

if he lost a lot of weight aj would just lean on that tubby boy and throw him out the ring lol

I think Fatso would be at his best at 255 pounds. I don't think he's disciplined enough to ever get to that weight though.

I agree but maybe this will light a fire under his fat ass and we will get to see him closer to his full potential .ruiz is a good fighter ,however he has been hugely over rated by his joshua win . Just as on saturday ruiz made it easier for josh to win ,in the first fight joshua made it easier for ruiz to win . He didnt respect him and that's was a huge mistake . Ruiz has a good chin , this much was apparent before the first fight . Joshua was to intent on looking as good or better than wilder did against breazeale he ran in like an idiot against a big man with a good chin who has been boxing since he was 6 . Yes andy was hurt but aj was also reckless . I personally dont wanna see a third fight right now , I think the odds of the first fight ( monumental upset) , and the clear cut victory in the rematch to set things straight is enough. Iam down for a trilogy if andy gets in shape and earns it . Hell ya, Iam rooting for andy I think in shape hes a tough out for wilder or joshua . But hes not top 5 without his recent win imo . He will give good goes to alot of guys but I would not pick him to win against the other top guys ( fury , wilder , joshua , ortiz, whyte ...) except for whyte ....in shape I think andy can win that fight . But if he comes in shape all of those fights will be good imo . Ortiz vs ruiz imo is what should be next .no need for tune ups. Keep the top guys fighting each other and you know that would be a fun fight to watch . I also saw someone bring up arreola in la ....that would be a fun fight before ortiz or another top name if he needs a pit stop fight while shedding his seal fat coat.
