Depending on your viewpoint, the unbeaten middleweight was either a benefactor of an upgrade in title status or a casualty in his pursuit of a dream fight with Saul Canelo' Alvarez, the reigning World middleweight king from Mexico who was the first who was bestowed with the Franchise championship label. Such designation saw Charlo advance from interim to full WBC titlist without having to win another fight in the ring, although it also denied him the chance to one day force a mandatory crack at the sport's most lucrative attraction.

Real fans know the reason for the creation of the franchise belt. When ggg was canelos mandatory a few yrs back, the wbc tried to enforce it and Canelo dropped their belt and threw a fit that lasted about a yr and a half. Wbc tried to win canelos love back with their other made up Mayan belts but he spit on it.

The wbc was so scared of pissing Canelo off again once he became wbc mw champion again, they got creative and created the franchise belt so that he wouldn't have to face any mandatory because they knew that facing Charlo wasn't in his plans. This avoids them having to strip Canelo for not facing a mandatory, keeps him happy and essentially prevents mandatories from earning the fights that they really want, but instead gifts them a title.

Korobov isn't a cream puff. Whoever said that, you fight him. Neither is brandon adams. He showed that. Ppl that talk like that obviously can't fight a lick. As for charlo, ur a pretty good fighter with some noticeable flaws. No disrespect to u at all, but more than likely, canelo was avoiding demetrius andrade
