Comments Thread For: Joshua Rejects Talk of Retirement - Win or Lose Against Ruiz

Anthony Joshua has dismissed any suggestions that he will retire from boxing win or lose after his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr on Saturday, insisting he has not yet reached the end of the 15-year "sentence" he gave himself when first taking up the sport. Joshua, 30, will earn the biggest purse of his career, rumoured to be around $50 million, despite being the challenge when he takes on Ruiz in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.

It's very likely Joshua loses again. He'd then still only be the 4th best Heavyweight in the world so retirement would be premature.

Here is a funny outcome of the fight: a draw. It will put AJ into a limbo and if Wilder beats Fury, AJ will be in this limbo for a long time. Unless he agrees to take the fight against Wilder for free. In Alabama. 2 weeks after AJ's last fight and 4 months after Wilder's last fight. With Marsellos Wilder being the referee. With AJ walking out to the ring to "I'm Wilder's btch" song. Wearing a chicken suit. With a trainer and AJ's whole team being denied entry to the US. With a heavy metal band having a 24 hour rave party on AJ's hotel floor. Do I go on or has the point been made?

Even with all that, Wilder would still duck the fight.

News coming out now is that Wilder is in negotiations to sign with DAZN, after his last fight bombed. He rejected $120m due to AJ being on the contract whilst claiming he did it for loyalty. 6months later, he has crawled back to DAZN to beg for a contract without AJ. LMAO.

            Unnecessary question.

He’ll batter Ruiz on Saturday, lol. It’s a forgone conclusion.

No.. No.. No!!! Wilder offered 50 million to AJ, and 50 percent to Sky\matchroom for the event And this fight was done! In truth Eddie and Sky wanted more.. If AJ loses.. They want to be in a position to rematch and set terms.. This is why they offered Wilder 12.5 million! Flat fee! Lmao!

I would retire if I looked like him and lost to guy that looks like Ruiz out of pure shame

Where is the news coming from as I'd like to read it for myself. I am curious about the final PPV numbers but no one can say if they were good or bad until they are officially released. Also I don't believe Wilder is trying to sign with DAZN as I heard that the Fury rematch is a certainty.

If Joshua is in peak condition and has a solid plan he is able to execute for 12 rounds, he should win. He only needs to win about 4 rounds clearly with judges. Shame but this is the case
