Comments Thread For: Ruiz Knew He Could Beat Joshua After Eating a Flush Right Hand

IBF, IBO, WBO, WBA heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz was nervous as he entered the ring to face Anthony Joshua back in June at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Ruiz took that fight on late notice, after original opponent Jarrell Miller was pulled after testing positive for banned substances in three drug tests.

That must play on the giant glass jawed robots mind heaps!

Fat Andy took the best AJ could give and still kept walking him down.

Ruiz was much superior to aj that night. I hope he can do it again.

Btw the same right by wilder would have been more powerful.

I remember laughing at the exchange right after Ruiz got up he took a left right combo to the head and sorta looked surprised. Like, "man that didn't knock me down" and he sprung to life. Never seen a fighter get fired up like that after eating his opponents sunday punch. I think even AJ was shocked. Because he took a shot next that ruined his night. War Ruiz!

Not at all. Had AJ not been buzzed by that temple shot he'd have finished Ruiz in a round or two.

Joshua is the only boxer to ever knock Ruiz down in his professional career. That will play on the Mexiweeble's mind for sure.

Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame Ruiz, when AJ beats you, everyone will want a piece of you.

Even Wilder may be interested as he'll see you as beatable and won't want to face AJ (ever).

Boxing is full one hit wonders like Buster Doglous, Hasim Rahman etc. Hope Ruiz doesn’t become one of those statistics.

On any particular night if the right punch lands at the right time any fighter can knocked out , Lewis , Louis , Holmes , Tyson have all been knocked out.
On another night Ruiz might have also folded but he didn’t in June and that’s what matters , let’s see next Saturday if he can do the same.
                    Big drama show awaits
