Comments Thread For: Tete-Casimero: An Unpredictable Holiday Gift

By Cliff Rold - First there was a rematch. Soon there will be another. Rightfully, much of the boxing world is focused on the heavyweight division. WBC titlist Deontay Wilder scored another sensational knockout last weekend in his return engagement with Luis Ortiz. In one week and change, we all get to find out what happens when WBA/IBF/WBO...

I think this is a fantastic scrap! I had never heard of Tete until I watched him smash then heralded upstart, Paul Butler. Casimero is a beast too! Still scratching my head about his loss to Sultan but I don't think he's going to need to worry about boxing much against Tete!

Can't really fail to be a great fight, way I see it. I'll be virtually repeating what I said in this weeks Pick Em thread but the whilst Tete is the far move proven of the pair Casimero should be sharp as a tack having had 3 fights and 3 wins by KO already this years whereas Tete is coming off a shoulder injury and 13 months lay off. Just adds an extra dimension of uncertainty to a fight which was already kinda unpredictable, but whatever happens this one's gonna entertain.

The Bantamweight division is on fire right now, most especially because Inoue is the leader of the pack and many champions and contenders in the top 10 are also worth to fight for. All of them are also salivating to fight each other - no promoter issue, no diva issue.

        Inoue - Oubali
        Tete - Casimero
(winner of Tete/Casimero with winner of Inoue-Oubali)

        or the contenders

        Donaire - Rodriguez
        Maloney - Takuma Inoue

And if the Superflies are also going to take part, we'll have:

        SSR - Inoue (Whoaaah!)
        Tete - Estrada

I will not count Nery anymore in this imagined match ups. That unprofessional boxer should head to 122 or cut his junk to stay in 118.

When John Riel Casimero shows up, trouble follows! Casimero may have to get very physical with Zolani Tete for the upset, maybe even bend the rules a bit like he did against Luis Lazarte.

Nonito proved he is still a force at 118, injury for Zolani may have been inevitable considering how Donaire left Naoya with a fractured orbital. It would of been a tougher road for Tete facing Nonito to get to the finals of the WBSS, than it was for Inoue.

I say Inoue would be holding the WBO bantamweight title right now -- even if Tete got past Donaire. I remember that when the 'Monster' moved up to 118 he was going to be the mandatory for Zolani because Inoue was the Superfly WBO champ. This showdown is long overdue, however I'm not sleeping on Casimero, he has a shot this weekend.

John Riel Casimero is in greater danger in the UK, you got those crazy Gypsy's that show up to Billy Joe Saunders events ; you got UKAD, then the horrible judging. Casimero probably should kick Tete in the balls and swim back to the Philippines.

Great even with this kind of match-up, Mthalane’s name shines through for being the man who beat both champs. And there comes Donaire who beat that man
