Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz On Joshua: That Was a Lucky Shot For Him, Too!

WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz is clapping back at Anthony Joshua's repeated comments that he was decked by a lucky shot in the third round of their contest. In their June encounter, Ruiz was dropped by a counter, but got up to his feet and engaged Joshua - landing a hard crack to the temple - and then dropped Joshua twice, in the same round. Two more knockdowns in the seventh and Ruiz secured the stoppage win.

Joshua hitting Ruiz with a shot from the gods is a lot more likely since he barely hit him again after that.

I didn’t know much about Ruiz, I missed the Parker fight. Ruiz was definitely sucking in his gut at the first weigh in, which I thought was a bad sign. My brother assured me he was legit. When he got dropped, I thought to myself “AJ deserves more credit and Ruiz deserves less”. I didn’t think it was a devastating KD. Still I’m impressed AJ had the mentality to try and end it. Course it didn’t work out, and Ruiz gets all the credit for fighting back hard. I hope Ruiz wins in the rematch. But may the best man win. If AJ does hurt Ruiz again I will be impressed if he tries to finish it again, just because I think most would expect him to be cautious.

Joshua has problems with fighters that can move their feet he’s a plodder. His fight vs Parker makes that clear and Parker not close to as fast as Andy. He’ll try to win at distance like he did vs Parker but ruiz will get to him again imo

More like Ruiz squared up trying to land in the inside and got blasted by a lighting left hook. But he owned to it admitting he got lazy. He can learn from that. Joshua on the other hand with his punch from the heavens remarks has got another one coming.

Anyone hear what he’s weighing? I didn’t think he will be less than 240lbs. Still he might get to Saudi two weeks ahead of time to get acclimated to the weather and time zone. In a foreign land with foreign food plus heat he might end up dropping a lot of weight/fluid once there, so he could end up much lighter.
