By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Luis Ortiz thinks quite highly of Deontay Wilder. In fact, during a recent interview with Boxing Scene, he interchangeably labeled the WBC champion as both the best heavyweight in the world and the best heavyweight of the era. Nevertheless, he expects that impression to change this weekend. The 40-year-old Cuban will get...

“My desire and hunger to prove I’m the better fighter is playing a big role in me mentally. He’s the best heavyweight in the world and I had him hurt. I know the damage I can do and I plan on doing it again."

I got Ortiz for the upset

There will be no upset... (Ortiz gets good retirement money and they still have a PPV to sell...)

Even If Ortiz beat Wilder.. Whyte still wouldn't fight him.. he would vacate that mandatory slot in a heartbeat! Lol. We know why Whyte wanted Wilder.. its easier to come to the fight, and wake up later in the hospital.. rich!" Ortiz will punish Whyte. . He doesn't want that brutal punishing beaten.. ask jennings about those uppercuts from Mr. Sandman on "Mike Tysons Punchout!!! ...lol. nah.. But seriously Whyte wants Wilder because he wants to drift away into La-La land in the first round like Stiverne and Breazeale!!! Maybe he can go out like Spilka.. Dat muddah***ah woke up on a stretcher! Lol.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Whyte will fight anybody, he wants to fight Wilder because Wilder is virtually untested at elite level.
Ortiz isn't a top level boxer, the only person who thinks he is is Wilder. Nobody avoids Ortiz, he's just not a big enough name, so why fight him?

I hope Ortiz wins, then Wilder won't be able to duck all the top fighters as he does now. I want to see Wilder fight the best, not the easiest.

If Ortiz can keep his discipline and box how he did up to round 5 and only take chances if he hurts Wilder, then this could shake things up.

Ortiz had Wilder hurt last time. He looks in much better shape for the rematch, this is a dangerous fight for Bomb Squad.
