Comments Thread For: Promoter: 154-Pounders Wouldn't Fight Hogan After Munguia

NEW YORK It wasn't just that they were presented with another world title fight. Dennis Hogan had to move up from 154 pounds to 160, according to his promoter, because junior middleweights weren't exactly eager to box him once they saw how much trouble Hogan gave Jaime Munguia. Hogan lost a majority decision to Tijuana's Munguia on April 13 in Monterrey, Mexico, but plenty of observers believe Hogan did enough to win their 12-round fight for Munguia's WBO junior middleweight title.

The statement implies that Munguia was himself some kind of monster. In reality, it's not like other champions at 154lbs were avoiding a very "green" Munguia who has been (rightfully so though) protected his promoter. Against Charlo, we'll see who is who and what is what!

This is going to be a really hard fight for Hogan. Hopefully he shows up to impress.

Any names? Who ducked Hogan? Munguia is for sure wouldn't give him a rematch, who else?

Probably nobody. Lubin, Harrison, Jermell, Lara, Castaño, Williams all beat him.

Really says a lot about America that Americans who’s great great great great great grandfathers came from Ireland would cheer against the American in favour of a foreign irish fighter....

Sounds like the usual pre fight hype. Hogan probably did beat Mungia but Charlo is a different animal.

Nobody would fight him? Who is he, Golovkin?

There's J-Rock, Hurd, Lara, Castano, Trout would accept any offer that comes his way. He's broke. There's also Lubin who is hungry for KO wins.

Delusional promoter. Probably getting his script from the Charlo camp.
