Comments Thread For: Coldwell Impressed By Anthony Fowler's Response To First Loss

Anthony Fowler's hectic 2019 continues as the Liverpool super-welterweight takes on Harry Scarff on November 23rd at the M&S Arena in his home city. Scarff has a respectable reputation on the domestic circuit and he's the current holder of the English title, and Dave Coldwell, Fowler's trainer, insists that the fight is a test that will push his charge hard.

I don't like Anthony Fowler. He has a similar type of arrogance to Carl Froch. He also is in denial about losing to Scott Fitzgerald. He clearly lost and he needs to accept it.

I think he has an extra level of arrogance which made that defeat all the more embarrassing.

I think he knows he lost but when it’s a due to a final round KD he’s always going to act like he deserved something from it. Would be a good rematch because I think they’re both similar level hype jobs. Might not even be above Cheeseman

That may well be true, but Fitzgerald should at least look to push on for the European title. Fowler is the one who needs to rebuild, as does Cheeseman. Maybe Cheeseman vs. Fowler with the winner getting the rematch with Fitzy? Tis also annoying how Eddie Hearn will push for a limited fighter like Lewis Ritson to get a World title shot, but keeps these others who are much more talented than Ritson on a merry-go-round. You know if Fowler had beaten Fitzgerald he would have been talked about like a future World champ.
