Qubali isnt on the level. Luis Nery is the only real fight for Inoue at 118.

Nery would be the mandatory for a Inoue-Oubaali winner. It’s probably easier to get to the showdown that way so I’m all for more unification first

That's a good point. I change my stance, then. As long as the WBC doesn't name the Inoue-Oubaali winner Franchise Champion.

Zolani Tete would also be an interesting fight for Inoue.

From everything said to date by the various camps, wouldn't Inoue most likely go for unification through Oubaali and Tete (for the WBO) before getting to Nery ?

Tete is verbally chasing Inoue, and is with Frank Warren, and given Warren has a good working relationship with Top Rank, I would think that becomes far more likely than a Nery fight.

I can imagine the Bobfather slow-rolling Inoue with an interim fight before possibly setting up something with Tete or Oubaali, which might leave Oubaali facing Nery in a mando if Tete gets the nod over Oubaali, then Inoue looking at the winner of Oubaali/Nery. I guess we'll see how it pans out.
