The unbeaten junior bantamweight claimed an interim title following an 8th round stoppage of Elton Dharry, forcing the Brooklyn-based Guyanese challenger to retire on his stool after eight rounds Friday evening at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, Australia.
Dharry was deemed unable to continue prior to the start of round nine due to the severity of his right eye which was swollen shut.
