Comments Thread For: Roach Declined Chavez Jr.'s Big Bag of Money, Wanted Work Ethic

LOS ANGELES - Freddie Roach and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. are back together again following a yearslong split. The trainer parted ways with the fighter following Chavez Jr.'s lack of dedication and commitment to training following the 2012 bout with Sergio Martinez. Chavez Jr.'s waning work ethic was the center of discussion, and even documented on HBO programming during that era, as he would bail on Roach during training sessions for as many as 30 times that camp.

I doubt he can train as hard as Pac but who knows, maybe he will give it all he has for his last few years boxing. He will still suck though, but Roach has the best idea, make him so fit he can walk through and knock the guy out.

If Chavez jr can dedicate himself to proper preparation, then maybe he can be successful and get back to the form that had him beat Andy Lee. This is his last chance, as in really last last chance.
