Comments Thread For: Lubin: I Definitely Want Jermell Charlo Again, The Goal is Revenge!

Erickson Lubin continued his resurgence with a dominant 10-round unanimous decision victory over Nathaniel Gallimore Saturday night on SHOWTIME from Santander Arena in Reading, Pa. Lubin (22-1, 16 KOs) won his fourth straight fight since a knockout loss to Jermell Charlo in a title challenge in 2017. The 24-year-old landed 42 percent of his power shots en route to the wide decision, scored 99-91 by all three judges.

I’d love to see it. Lubin vs. Anyone in the Top 5 would be great. I’m thinking Charlo might not wanna give him a rematch. It’s crazy, that’s probably the only round he’s lost his whole career. The man’s been super dominant. I’d love to see him tested again. Badou Jack went on to have a nice run after his 1st Round KO Loss. Hopefully Lubin can make something big happen here soon too

Always felt fans were cheated out of what could've been a really good fight. Props to Charlo for the shot but I have a feeling that was lightening in a bottle and 99 times out of 100 that them fighting would be a competitive back and forth match up.

Jermell has no incentive to take the rematch. One, he already beat him by first round knockout.

Secondly, he's in line for a title rematch with Harrison, though I get the feeling the latter is in the process of ducking the fight. He knows he was awarded the belt in one of the biggest robberies in recent memory.

Lubin will have to win a title, beat J-Rock or Harrison.

Exactly what I wanted to say.
Not to discredit the win but it’s the kind of matchup where if they fought 2 more times, it would both be neck n neck.

Lightning struck that night for Charlo but i have hard time seeing that happen again. It was a freak punch.

Completely agree! I just hope it doesn't mess with him mentally if they ever meet up soon

I knew that Lubin was a little in over his head. It could of been competitive fight if it wasn't for that shot. But Lubin was too young for that fight. If he were to fight Charlo next year or the year after, he will be 25 or 26 years old with a lot more experience. I would love to see this fight within 2 years because it should be a lot better than the first one.
