Bread’s responses are magnificent. It truly shows boxing expertise vs rank emotional amateurs that populate these forums. Excellent responses.

Excellent Bread. One of the best mailbergs I ever read. Porter was in the best shape of his life. I remember they interviewed him after the Manny vs Thurman fight and he said he had already started training for Spence.

That showed in the fight. I believe Spence would have stopped him if he had trained like he does for his other fights. But he went all out this time, even had Andrade and Benevides helping him with his sparring.

I think Spence won 8-4 or 7-5 plus the knock down, but he had to earn every single moment of that victory. Of course I knew he could do it, Spence actually has a way of picking up the tempo and pace of the fight around the sixth round and then again in the later stages no matter how ridiculous the tempo was already. I knew that would play a part in the fight and it did as he swept the championship rounds.

Having said that, I think Spence needs to take a page out of Floyd's book and stay in shape all year out. He needs to treat boxing like a full time job if he wants to run through this stacked weltwerweight division, not only because the division is stacked but for other reasons too, one of them being that he is looking kinda tight at the weight and the other being that, as we saw from Porter, these guys are gonna be having the training camps of their lives in order to prepare for him, so he too needs to have the best training camp possible if he wants to dominate and prevent a potential shock defeat.

He has all the talent in the world, he just needs to stay in shape. It's a long way to cleaning out the division (Thurman, Pac, Garcia, Ugas, and Crawford). He's gonna need to be in the best shape of his career throughout.

Beautiful insights from Breadman as always.

Porter earned the respect from all boxing fans after that display.

              Crawford vs Porter, LET'S GO!!

Great mailbag this week. Spence wasn't exposed. He was able withstand an onslaught from Porter and pull off the victory with the KD and a fairly dominant last round. I never saw him discouraged. I don't know how anyone come away from this fight criticizing either Spence or Porter.

Like I keep saying the word Exposed has become so cliche and those who love to use it usually don’t know WTF they are talking about! And frankly it usually feels biased used particularly against urban fighters! If anything what was exposed last Saturday is both fighters have tremendous heart an will! My pick for FOY so far shot out an props to the combatants and PBC Thanks.

Spence is always in a great shape and always turns it up late in fights. Any tough fight he's had, he has taken over at the end to get some timely KDs. BUT, there is no doubt that blowing up drains him some and it takes away from his camp since he has to spend the first few weeks shedding weight. I know guys like Crawford also get up in the mid 170s, but Spence has been at this weight or around this fight for damn near over a decade now. He definitely needs to watch his weight or just move up to 154 where he will have more snap on his shots.

                    Excellent post btw.
