Comments Thread For: Errol Spence-Shawn Porter: Stats & Stakes

By Cliff Rold - The slow rolling but steady PBC round robin at welterweight featuring Errol Spence, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, and now Manny Pacquiao lands on its latest chapter Saturday night (Fox PPV, 9 PM EST). It's the second unification bout of the bunch. Unlike the fallout from Thurman-Garcia that saw the WBC...

I just want to see a good punchup that takes me back to the 4 horsemen era of the early 80s. May the beat man win and may it be an entertaining match

Decent match-up, not ppv worthy but we'll get to see if Spence is the goods or not.

I agree with Rold's analysis. Spence is just too big, better technically and a solid puncher. I haven't yet seen Spence get into deep trouble so that is a test he has yet to pass.

Obviously the litmus tests for Spence are against Crawford, Pac, and Thurman, However the pace of the PBC in putting it's stars out to fight means it could be years from now before we see those match-ups.

Pac will be too old a year from now, Thurman has an uphill battle to reclaim his status, so Crawford is the only one with longevity. I see it coming down to Spence v Crawford for top-dog status.

I'm not a big follower of the WW's, so am unsure of who is coming up.
