Keyshawn Davis, best American amateur since Andre Ward, fantastic defensive fighter... but came up short against best Amateur Pound for Pound in Andy Cruz.
Great little rivalry between the two, so far more experience Cuban 3:0, but all close fight... perhaps number 4 in the Olympic games - and maybe They'll carry it through to the pro game as well.

Another poster has also told me to keep an eye on Davis. That was the first time I’ve seen him, he had good technique, footwork, hand-speed. I’d like to see him throw more combinations though, it felt like he was looking for the single shots too much today, which is never a good idea against a Cuban.

But at 20 years old to be competing with guys of the calibre of Andy Cruz (who I rate very highly) is a very good sign. Should be one to watch out for at Tokyo and when he turns pro.

Keep an eye on Peter McGrail over our side of the pond as well, the most complete amateur boxer we’ve produced in years IMO. He picked up bronze this week losing a very close SD (4:1) against the far more experienced Lazaro Alvarez.

Damn shame that Justis Huni, the super heavyweight Aussie, had to withdraw due to sickness. Tall rangy fighter, very fast with a good style, he was doing well.
