Comments Thread For: Dirrell: 'Flint Strong' Is Us Sticking Together As A City, As A Whole

At age 34 and having boxed-pro and amateur-for nearly a quarter-century, Anthony Dirrell readily admits that there aren't many years left in his boxing career. Where he'll never quit fighting, however, is in the ongoing battle to forever better the lives of those in his hometown of Flint, Mich.

Fun fact. My hometown of Allentown Pennsylvania has approx. 7 times as much lead in the water as Flint Michigan. But guess what, no one cares. Why? Because we have a population which is largely Puerto Rican rather than Black. So the national news media doesn't give a crap. The politicians don't come make a spectacle.

        Source article: https://www.wfmz.com/news/lehigh-val...osure/21538248

Excerpt: In Flint, Michigan, where officials have declared a crisis situation, the percentage is just over 3.21 percent

According to the Pennsylvania report, Allentown's level is 23 percent. That means almost one in four children has levels of lead in the blood over 5 micrograms per deciliter, which, according to the CDC, is higher than average and should be treated by a health care professional.

Also on the list of high exposure rates are Reading, Easton, and Bethlehem.

I assume you're talking to me? The post was talking about how Dirrell wants to better the lives of his hometown folks. I'm doing the same thing, advocating for my people here.

IDKSAB. Been watching my whole life. You wanna talk about how Anthony Dirrell has a weak ass chin and needs to run and retreat to survive fights? What do you wanna discuss regarding his boxing? YOU let ME know and we can talk about it.

Jerkass, Newark New Jersey and other Black cities also have higher lead concentration in their water than Flint.

The reason that Flint made the news was the fact that the Governor of Michigan purposely destroyed the water supply of the city.

It's a story of government malfeasance, bxtch.

The poorest, least educated, and unhealthiest states are primarily located in the south, largely controlled by the ********** party. Tremendous job they're doing there.
