    The 2019 world amateur championship is presently under way in Ekaterinburg, Russia, which is rightfully labeled as Ural's first boxing hotbed. After almost two thirds of the tourney, the championship is about to enter its most important rounds quarterfinals (on Wednesday), semifinals (on Friday) and finals (on Saturday) with Thursday being the championship's single day off.

                    We don't get nowhere near enough news updates on the amateur scene on here. I think boxingscene should post far more articles on amateur tourneys than they do promoting Celebrity fights and Amir Khan's monologues.
