Comments Thread For: Wilder-Ortiz II Announcement Imminent; 11/23 In Las Vegas

The few remaining minor details are being ironed out to finalize contracts for the Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz rematch. Multiple sources informed BoxingScene.com on Friday that those issues will be rectified soon and that an official announcement is imminent. Wilder-Ortiz II likely will be announced next week, which would afford everyone involved in this pay-per-view event more than two months to promote it.

Wilder will defend his WBC heavyweight title versus Ortiz on November 23 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, as BoxingScene.com previously reported. Showtime is expected to distribute the Wilder-Ortiz rematch as the main event of a four-fight telecast.

I knew they were waiting for the Ruiz/Joshua rematch to fall through, if that had happened then we would have seen Ruiz/Wilder. Seems this guy can’t move unless Joshua moves, Fury right so carries on with his career. That’s how big boss do it, not wait and try to piggyback someone else’s.

Hopefully Nov/Dec make up for what’s been a crap year for boxing in 2019.

They meant the announcement is on November 23 in some Las Vegas alley. The fight will be in 2020

Wilder shouldve fought Kownacki, at least that wouldve been ok.
