  • Comments Thread For: Devin Haney: Everything Falling Right Into Place For My Career

The 20-year old Las Vegas-based boxer is focused on his upcoming title eliminator versus Russia's Zaur Abdullaev (11-0, 7KOs), with the Sept. 13 battle of unbeaten lightweights streaming live on DAZN from Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater in New York City. The winner will be named the mandatory for one of the three belts currently in possession of pound-for-pound entrant Vasiliy Lomachenko (14-1, 10KOs), who claimed a 12-round win over England's Luke Campbell over the weekend in London.

There's a thief on the loose, has anyone seen where the WBC Lightweight title went? I know the WBC 'interim' title is half of the actual title but Devin Haney deserves justice.

Devin Haney has worked hard for his ranking! He deserved his opportunity at the full title! NOT HALF! They trying so hard to make Bumchenko undisputed, but anyone can see that this fraud has been assisted to accomplish his goals.

Devin Haney came from the bottom, took no shortcuts and took on all comers. Bumchenko only knows to take shortcuts, leaps over others more deserving! SCREW BUMCHENKO! A OVERRATED PAPER-CHAMP!

Hats off for the 2 young dudes going at it. Both could have easily avoided each other if they wanted too. Respect

I like that you are giving Haney the credit he is due, but don't even try and minimize Lomo, he's beaten everyone around the globe amateur and now pro. a top 5 best fighter easy all around so you may want to watch tennis from now on and leave boxing to people who do the dam thing!

Kudos to Devin who seems to truly want the fight & seems to have legit self belief--unlike other fighters out there who prefer to do their barking on Twitter. Arguably the best American prospect in boxing & I think he's a future mainstay in the P4P rankings. Big fan of him & he seems truly dedicated to his craft, but I think he'd probably be biting off more than he can chew at this stage in his career. Who cares though? Unlike most dishonest psychos on this forum, I sure as hell wouldn't write him off if he caught a likely L, and I think he could acquit himself reasonably well to where it wouldn't diminish his standing in the sport. Obviously Loma's early 2020 is mapped out with his targets set on the Commey/Lopez winner, but I'd definitely welcome this fight if he plans to stick around 135 & feels like he has more unsettled business at the weight.

I also like Teofimo Lopez, both Lopez and Haney have a bright future in the sport. The best part is that they have MANY-MANY-MANY years to give to the sport ; Washed-Chenko is almost out of boxing, despite having less than 16 professional fights

-- maybe he can set a new record, as most overrated three-weight champion to retire in less than 17 pro fights.

Looks like you're just one of the biased dime-a-dozen low IQ fools who let's Lomachenko live in his head and his avatar rent free, and with no eviction plans. Keep throwing yourself under the bus with ignorant statements.

I hope Lomachenko fights Haney before dropping back down in weight. That and the Commey-Teofimo winner would be interesting fights.
