I agree BJS isnt sellable to non-boxing fans. I disagree about Haney, but even if we disagree there are certainly better choices.

If anything this may be hearns way of making the card legitimate towards real boxing fans
That doesnt add up to me.

This card will be one of DAZN's biggest events if it was a 1 fight show. This is a W already for DAZN for the mere fact its on their platform. The boxing fans are already on DAZN or waiting for bigger fights then BJS vs TBA to reup for a month. So BJS on this card does nothing for DAZN.

They can capitize on trying to reduce the churn on this card doe & you do that by putting on interesting, entertaining or relatable young fighters that might grab new boxing viewers moving forward.

To be fair im looking at this from a uk skysports perspective rather than dazn subscription. I could be way off where dazn is concerned

Yea I think you are probably right. His fortnite dances alone would likely sell him.

they have that weird looking dude nikita ababiy, who is doing fortnite dances and other ******ed stuff, but I dont think that he will be very successful later on.
I also wouldnt put smaller than welterweight fighters on that card, because casuals often associate boxing with big dudes, at least in germany.
He was one of the guys I was thinking of being on the prelim & I suspect there is a good chance he will be. Id be throwing all those young US guys on this undercard like Diego & that Remit or w/e his name is guy & OJ3 & whoever else is with Matchroom & under 25 or so.

Josh Kelly against the right opponent should also be considered. Has the looks and a flashy style.
Dude lol I was going back n forth between him & Sims on the main card so we thinking pretty similar about this.

I think it depends on Saunders opponent. Saunders does not have a fan-friendly style, so as you said, he may not be the guy who helps make that crossover appeal to non-boxing fans work. It could very well backfire and put more non-fans off if he stinks up the place with another anti-climatic performance.

Is this going to be a Sky PPV over there? In that case maybe you do wanna throw Josh Kelly on the main card over a US guy like Sims that I brought up. Need to sell it to both to some degree. If its not PPV idk that a UK guy high on the card matters all that much but if you do you dont want it to be BJS.

Saunders is a boring fighter. Let's just be honest. If people watch him fight they won't really be excited about boxing if they are casuals. Casuals like Knockouts
Honestly BJS runs hot and cold. When he's cold he's boring. When he's hot he dominates like against Lemeuix and Lee or makes it fun like with Eubank.

Who would you recommend he fight as a co-main thats interesting?

Any interesting BJS fight I can think of is gonna be a main event. I suspect this will be a very bs 168lb title defense vs some random #11 guy you gotta boxrec.

He only runs hot vs his best opponents, not unlike Fury often times.

Does anyone think BJS is gonna fight anything resembling a 50/50ish type fight or big name guy as the co-main on this card?

It would definitely have to be someone proven like Caleb Plant or hell, I'd even settle for JCC Jr. if he can still make 168. At least the style match up would force a fight out of Saunders. But, I don't think they'll set him up in a fight where he is the underdog.

Saunders is a pretty good troll and he comes across as a legitimate dirtbag. I think it would be funny if he acts completely disgusted that he has to be on the card , ****ting on the main event, the fans, the promoters; just become 100% heel and then come in. That way if he gets booed because of his "boring" style it just comes across as legit heat he's built up
