  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Saunders-Smith Must Be Bigger Before It's Worth The Risk

NEW YORK Billy Joe Saunders-Callum Smith is one of the best fights that can be made within the super middleweight division. A bout between Saunders, the WBO 168-pound champion, and Smith, who owns the WBA title, also would draw well in England. Eddie Hearn, whose company promotes Saunders and Smith, contends that event could become bigger, which is among the reasons we won't see them fight anytime soon.

He’s the same oily huckster as Arum and King etc. let it “marinate”. After Joshua balloon popping, and Whyte exposed as a serial cheat, Matchroom can’t risk its bankable names. This is looking like De La Hoya, who will be finished if Canelo loses badly

Hearn is doing his fighters a diservice, if we go by his words the risk-reward ratio will never be good enough for his fighters(andrade, saunders, smith, etc) to get fights with the likes of canelo or ggg... thats BS...

The fight will never be a crossover event, neither has the name for that, but it would be pretty decent for actual boxing fans. Hearns talking like it could become a huge event or something. Now the winner might actually become a big name. But in reality, Saunders is going to fight absolutely no one until Eubank again, but talk about Canelo, Golovkin and Andrade alot on IFL.
