At the Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, top junior middleweight and middleweight contender James "Mandingo Warrior" Kirkland snapped more than a four year layoff. I thought he was just flat-out retired, honestly. Surely he won't make it back to the top again in this current division but who knows, maybe he can do something the next rung down if he's got anything left.

Even at his best, whilst with Anne Wolfe pre- 2012, Kirkland was basically just a well conditioned smash'em crash 'em sub world class fighter imo. He's too small for the current 160s and we'll.past a prime that just wasn't good enough.

Kirkland vs Liam Smith should be next.

            Canelo left overs.

The PBC can always use an old, past their prime name. Toss Kirkland in with Danny Garcia for 300k and offer decent $$ if he wins. If Danny wins they'll do a closeup of Danny's mouth saying, "I'm backkkkkk" followed by "I only want the best". Now, if by some crazy miracle Kirkland wins, Spence can call him out for his annual bum beating.

It's a win, win and Spence can duck Crawford for another year.
