  • Comments Thread For: Ramon Alvarez Vows To Make History By Beating Erislandy Lara

Jalisco's Ramn 'Inocente' Alvarez will look to make history on August 31 when he confronts the Cuban stylist Erislandy Lara in Minnesota. If Alvarez wins, he will capture the vacant "regular" super welterweight world title of the World Boxing Association, and placing himself right next to his brothers Rigoberto Alvarez and Sal 'Canelo' Alvarez - as the first trio of Mexican brothers to become world champions.

I always wondered, why don't canelos brothers train with him / the reynosos ?

Same can be said for Pacquiaos brother Bobby, Cottos brother, Marquez's

It's weird. You'd think you would see them training together or at least in the same gym but you almost never see them together. They always seem to end up being journeymen too.

I almost forgot Pac & Cotto even had brothers I don't think I've ever heard Pac even mention his brother like ever lol

I'm sure there's more to it but of I was a huge star like these guys I'd use my star power to try to help my siblings achieve the same thing or at least help them make money. These guys bring home million dollar purses & their siblings fight for crumbs lol

There isn't enough Clenbuterol for the whole family. So the oldest get first pickings.

He'll have to learn how to cut off the ring very well then because Lara will dance circles around him if he has his way.

Isn’t this the brother that got blown out by Brandon Rios. Basically what Clenelo would be without the PEDs.

Maybe the trainers don’t want to waste their time on no hopers, no matter who’s brother it is. Same for promoters and stuff. Golden Boy aren’t going to kick one of their upcoming fighters off a big undercard just to put Canelo’s bum brother on the bill because of who is brother is.

It’s business and boxers know that.

Fight? Box? Nah, that ain't Lara's style. He will use his signature style of track & field star that somehow made people consider him a legitimate contender.

Lara basically runs a half-marathon every fight. The man has unlimited stamina, and uses such a natural gift to literally sprint around the ring. I bet if someone were to actually track his movements, he probably runs over 12 miles in a 36-minute fight.
