Comments Thread For: Haney: Campbell Fight Won't Be As Easy For Loma As Most Think

Devin Haney would probably get his lightweight title shot faster if Luke Campbell upsets Vasiliy Lomachenko later this month. From a personal standpoint, Haney hopes Campbell can beat the heavily favored Lomachenko on August 31 in London. From an objective standpoint, Haney thinks Lomachenko will win their 12-round fight for Lomachenko's WBA and WBO lightweight titles and the vacant WBC championship.

I don’t think anyone in their right mind would think it will be an easy fight for Loma. Campbell is an olympic gold medalist, bigger taller.
Its the haters who love to put down Loma’s competition before the fight, so they can say Loma struggled with them after the fight.
Hey at least they are not part time fisherman from south america that no one ever heard of.

Seems like if Loma beats Campbell Teo and Haney are next in line, interesting in terms of hype.

They have shown less limits than Loma somehow, they are undefeated, but mainly because they never fought real threats, so people think there is a grudge match, but...

I give Haney (almost)no shots at all at Loma, his best oppo; Moran, Ndongueni and Burgos (who was OK in his prime but useless in 2018 at 135) were dude ranked out of the top 50 on boxrec. Fury gets bashed for that kind of low ranking oppo (and rightfully).
Now that we talk about Haney vs Loma, thanks WBC, it won't get him anywhere close to be ready for the Loma puzzle. I watch Haney, I will shock people, but he lacks athleticism to beat Loma, Loma outpowers him IMO, and he doesn't have the speed, feet to outpoint Loma, he will get countered and hurt IMO. Haney has holes in his D (another one trying to emulate Floyd's D and who will unfortunately pay it), it is just that his oppo has not been able to capitalize on it, but I can see it.
That russian dude next ain't getting him ready either.
But hey, if Haney can give Loma a great close fight, I will embrace it. I like to get it wrong and be surprised in boxing.

Theo, on the other hand, has been in a fight, I think that Nakatani dude was a problem, 6 ft strong, not slow.
Teo solved it, and I liked it. This fights will get Teo better, and Teo is facing a real test in Commey. So if Teo beats Commey is 100% legit to fight Loma, and I will have a solid shot, Commey is no slouch and a strong mofo.

Yeah, the trashing of Campbell that goes on is a bit ridiculous. Besides, it's a sanctioned world title bout. It would be absurd for Loma not to go after it, and if he didn't, I bet some would say he's ducking Campbell. Ha. Lomachenko is good for boxing, imo.

          Peace.

Campbell has the pedigree to hang with Lomachenko but definitely won't beat him

Seriously stop listening to everyone with an opinion. Boxers are terrible at predicting fights. Campbell will get stopped in 5 rounds. He has no chance
