  • Comments Thread For: Joshua: Firing McCracken 'Silly,' But Will Add To Training Team

Trainers frequently take the fall for fighters that suffer upsets. Loyalty and appreciation prevented Anthony Joshua from even considering firing longtime trainer Rob McCracken. The British superstar is, however, going to add one experienced person or more to his team as he prepares to put together a training camp for his heavyweight championship rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr.

Joshua is robotic and even worse fighting on the inside. Wilder was too fast for him and Ruiz is also too fast + more skilled and a better inside fighter. Team Joshua pushing for a location where he can use his The****utic Use Exemption (TUE) to use PEDs.

Wilder isn't fast. Wilder is also the biggest cherry picker in Boxing. Besides getting help from the ref and doctor to recover after being severely hurt by an old man with high blood pressure, Ortiz and getting a gift draw against an out of shape coke head, Fury. Wilder has defended his title against bums ranked over 30. Joshua will knock Wilder silly. The 2 best Heavyweights right now are Big Andy Ruiz and Tyson Fury. Wilder could fight the ice cream man and his idiot fans will still praise him for getting the KO win. Wilder can't fight on the inside either.

Giants usually never excel on inside fighting not unique to Josh. Exceptions Bowe, Lewis had great uppercut. Long arms better for long range shorter fast arms excell inside

I just dont see Joshua doing any better actually. The fight will be competitive and go longer, but i still see Ruiz winning. Joshua is too stiff, plus he doenst seem to have good punch resistance.

You can’t be sentimental in boxing because the career is a short one and can even be shorter with the wrong personnel. Coaches are hired to do a job and clearly McCracken as good as a person he might me doesn’t belong to the highest echelons. Adding another coach when McCracken is still there only creates problems because there should only be one chain of command in the camp. Hatton tried to use Mayweather with someone else and it didn’t work because it rarely works. Joshua needs to be decisive and stop trying to be a people pleaser. In life you will have the make some unpopular and unpalatable decisions if you want to reach the next stage of your career.

Agreed. I think AJ has a similar relationship with mccracken that the likes of Wlad and Vitali had with mani Stewart. Big difference though is that Stewart was a top notch pro trainer. I think to make this work he needs to add a head trainer, and use mccracken for pad work etc. By all accounts mccracken is a good guy and if that's the case he should accept a lesser role on the team if it benefits AJ.

McCracken has probably taken him as far as he can. Maybe someone like johnathon banks would be a good addition. However if he changes it up Nd doesnt win then itll look even worse.
