He’s not wrong. Kelly has yet to impress me. He was showboating in his last fight and getting hit. Also, who gets an Olympic tattoo when you get eliminated in the opening round? That’s someone who’s just happy to be involved.

Conor Benn is not going to be anything else but a domestic level guy.

Not hating on him, its just that he started boxing late, and doesn't really have the fundamentals to take him further.

Josh Kelly has some potential, but he has a lot to learn as well.

This would be a good domestic fight, but Kelly would likely win every round against Benn.

I think Kelly still has potential. I think they thought he was supremely talented and could fast track him, which isn’t the case. They were saying he could beat Kell Brook. Brook might be faded but he would flatten Josh Kelly as it stands. Maybe that last fight was a reality check. He still needs a lot of work. I always thought he would come unstuck because he neglects the basics. It’s alright showboating and looking flashy but you need to get back to basics when it’s not working.

That said, his ceiling is still much higher than Conor Benn’s i think. I don’t see Benn getting anywhere beyond domestic level. He could win a British title if matched right in some kind of vacant fight.

I dont take the started boxing late that much into consideration, hes still young and already has 15 fights as a pro. There are other fighters that started older then him and had a lot of success.
