While I know I'm not Chris Mannix (I'm older) and this isn't Sports Illustrated (we're cheaper), there are no doubt at least a few things he and I have in common. First off, we're both featured in multiple forms of media. Yeah, fine he works for a gigantic magazine and has a recurring role on a live streaming conglomerate and I write for a boxing-specific website and do an occasional gig on satellite radio.

Unfortunately Mr. Fitzsimmons this is the world that we live in. As great as the internet is it also has it's faults. The ability to anonymously criticize and critique will always be abused by those inclined to do so. I joined this site to discuss a sport that I love with likeminded boxing fans. There are some really great people on this forum but there is also the toxic element. There is a difference between disagreeing and disrespect. Minimizing contact with the latter is probably the best option.

Pacquiao’s win over Thurman has got all kinds of crazy popping up left right and centre.

Chris Mannix is a hype guy. He's paid to hype guys even when they look basic. VERY low bar with that one.

And I'm fairly certain he was referring to Castillo, not Corrales, since he's a Floyd hater that thinks it was a robbery when in truth, it was razor thin close and could have gone either way if you understand how to score rounds.

But he comes off like someone who doesn't follow the sport when gets names wrong - the two guys were nothing alike.

I did read last week's column and although I didn't comment I came away thinking that it was very biased in favour of Floyd. If I remember correctly, there was a short paragraph that basically minimised everything that Pac did below 130, just because it was convenient to do so? If the writer is going to write like that then you can expect some return fire.

Aside from that, the world over, people are becoming more polarised in their opinions on everything including boxing. 50 years ago even the most ardent boxing fans could have sat at a bar and discussed Ali and Frazier (leaving aside racists). Not anymore.

Just ignore the Pactards. I have found that is usually the best course of action.

Yeah, Floyd & Manny have the most awful fans.

The worst of the Asian/White/Latin communities vs. the worst of the Black community.

You can't even talk about either of them with objectivity or you're "stanning" them or something.
