NEW YORK If Canelo Alvarez eventually fights at light heavyweight, Marcus Browne doesn't expect to appear on the Mexican superstar's list of potential opponents. "Canelo don't want this smoke, not this smoke," Browne said following an open workout Wednesday at Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn. Alvarez was willing recently to move up from middleweight to light heavyweight for his next fight for a shot at Sergey Kovalev's WBO 175-pound championship. Negotiations didn't result in a deal, though, and Alvarez's handlers are attempting to finalize a deal for Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KOs) to make a mandatory defense of his IBF middleweight title versus Ukraine's Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-1, 10 KOs).
