Comments Thread For: Lomachenko Eager For Campbell: I'm Going To Leave a Winner!

WBA, WBO lightweight world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko is not worried about traveling across the ocean to face Luke Campbell on UK soil. Lomachenko will collide with Campbell, with the vacant WBC world title at stake, on August 31 at the O2 Arena in London.

Underrated matchup but at this point in Lomachenko's career, given his small size and his age, Top Rank really needs to be doing much better. If Loma beats Campbell, there can't be any more bull**** delaying the fight for the IBF, they need to let Loma fight for that belt by January 2020 at the latest, and then there can be no tuneups, no more delays, no more Marriaga's or even Jason Sosa's, it needs to be straight into something much better than either the Campbell or the Comey/Teofimo IBF fight. We need to see Lomachenko in with Pacquiao, Prograis, Josh Taylor, Jose Ramirez, Floyd Mayweather, or Tank Davis by May 2020 at the latest.

Top Rank cannot waste this man's career like so many potential greats of this era have had their careers wasted. Bob Arum has been promoting for decades, he probably has hundreds of millions of dollars in his bank account. It's time to back your fighter and get him more legacy fights before he really starts to decline.

Yup, that photo looks like Loma is three divisions below Campbell now. Perhaps Loma just never bothered to really cut weight and has stronger legs.

Campbell is a good boxer but he hasn't shown himself to be that great in his career so far. If he punched harder he would be more competitive but Loma wins this easy by KO or TKO

You forgot to include Canelo, GGG and Kovalev

I think Pacquiao vs. Lomachenko @ 140 would be just as worthy of a PBC/ESPN co-promo PPV, as would Spence vs. Crawford @ 147 or Loma vs. Davis @ 135! I thought it was a good fight after Pac got the KO vs. Matthyssee, now that Pac beat Thurman, I think it's an even bigger event!

Loma will leave the winner? What a bold proclamation.

Loma's ceiling is 135. Pac would have to drop down. People would pay to watch for sure.

No intrigue in this matchup at all. We all know going in who is going to win the fight.

Just like we knew last time against Crolla.

This isn't the stuff great legacies are made of.
