Comments Thread For: Bivol Still Wants Canelo: We Don't Have Opponents, Let's Fight!

WBA light heavyweight world champion Dmitry Bivol is still waiting for an opponent, and hopes to fight again before the year is out. Bivol is glad that a light heavyweight unification bout will finally come down, because IBF champion Artur Beterbiev and WBC champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk will clash in the fall.

I'd be impressed if Canelo took it but I don't think he wants that kind of fight. I think he sees Kovalev is past prime, soft in the belly, and feels he's a safer pick.

Bivol needs to be careful what he asks for, Bivol is an Outstanding young fighter who could have a great career, he should not cash out on his promising career by letting himself to be fed to Canelo, It would be hard for Bivol to rebuild his career after being beaten in a brutal fashion by someone coming up from 160, I guess if the fight is at 168 Bivol could try to save face by saying the weight loss drained him, Fighting Canelo is a bad idea for Bivol he is way to green.

        Oh , without a doubt
Honestly though I can’t blame Canelo for making the decision to go the Kovalev route
Easier task at hand imo and with much more exposure than fighting Bivol

Bivol isn’t worth the risk. If Canelo wins the majority of people will be like who was that guy anyway.

I do think Canelo could beat him though. Bivol is too green

Bivol destroyers Canelo, so his camp will act like they never got the offer

Definitely. Canelo is too scared to fight Bivol at 168 or 175. He wants easy pickings like Kovalev. The red headed coward should stick to fighting easy opponents at 160 like a trilogy with GGG and a rematch with Jacobs. He also should lobby for that other easy target, Derevyanchenko, who’s the mando for IBF. Lol these Canelo fans are funny defending Canelo ducking the top 5 light heavyweights. All one can do is just laugh at them as they scurry for excuses. “Oh bu bu but Nelo a MW doe...Bivol needs to stick to fighting guys his size doe”. Lol SCARED.

Bivol made a mistake signing with DAZN. They have no LHWs for him and I doubt Arum's going to want to send some of his guys over when he has 3 of them.

Bivol is too green, Canelo would toy with him before stopping him late.

Why do guys still think Canelo stops anyone half decent? There's nothing to indicate he would toy or stop him like the guy above me thinks, yet I still see those types of predictions from his fans.
