Comments Thread For: Roach: Pac's Performance May Have Scared Mayweather a Bit

Freddie Roach, trainer for eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao, believes his boxer's recent performance may have scared off Floyd Mayweather. This past Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mayweather sat ringside and watched Pacquiao pick up a twelve round split decision to capture the WBA welterweight title from undefeated Keith Thurman.

Floyd is easily spooked. Wanting cw against green nelo. I mean.nel o was a kid, so inexperienced at highest level and no where near .prime.
So what's with the cw?. Floyd didn't like any hardship and he knew he was going to retire soon so why not go out in blaze of glory.? I mean Pac also used a cw with cotto, but at least Pac was going to have another 50 fights after that to make amends.
What's Floyd did? Retire, with question marks?

Mayweather whoops Pacquiao 10 out of 10. No fighter is afraid of another. Roach has been around boxing for a very long time and needs to stop this ******ity before he winds up making excuses again🥊

Floyd didn’t see that right pumpkin and swinging like that on Saturday night when he fought Pacquiao. Healthy shoulder makes it harder for Floyd to jab,jab and grab this time.

Floyd was scared of green nelo. Rematch nel o now. Yes, it's hard and asking a lot of Floyd after only having beat kickboxers of late.
But doing things nobody has ever done like Pac did and being the best ever is never easy, nobody said it was

Lmao canelo had nearly just as many pro fights Floyd had when they fought. Canelo was 23 floyd 36 that was a plus for canelo. Floyd was being called a coward for ducking canelo then he beats him and they say he wasn’t ready. Go back and look at the weigh in canelo even says he was born ready so he knew he was destined to get whooped by Floyd no matter what lol.

You're making some really ridiculous comments here. "No fighter is afraid of another." REALLY? Wow, there have been many fighters who you could see their opponents were definitely afraid of them. Especially ones like Tyson at his peak, right before the Douglas fight. It has happened during the entire history of the sport. Fact is, Floydie is way more fragile than Floydie worshipers even realize. He's been smart to surround himself with just the right yes-men, for years. It's what weak narcissists do. He's a good, not great fighter, who BTW knows Pac is firing on nearly all 8 cylinders right now. So don't expect Floydie to take the bait and fight a rematch. Freddie is right.

I agree with your first point. No fighter is scared of another. But i dont know about Floyd winning 10 out of 10.If Floyds deteriorated quicker than Paq, whos been much more active, it could make the difference. An old Leonard got smashed by an old Camacho. I can't see why Floyd would take this, unless hes running out of money. Its no win really. He wins its styles make fights. If he loses he was shot. Which might be true. But it dont add to anyones legacy that I can see.
