Comments Thread For: Hearn: Campbell Has The Ability, Boxing IQ To Beat Lomachenko!

Luke Campbell claims he is ready to turn the tables on Vasyl Lomachenko, taking his WBA and WBO titles and sending a message to the rest of the lightweight division. The two will face off in London on August 31, with Campbell the next to take on the unified champion who defeated Anthony Crolla, another Englishman, in April for his 13th win in 14 professional fights.

I hope Camp's ring IQ means roughing Loma up. Don't be trying to break just cause the ref says so. Make the ref earn his money, Loma doesn't break clean all the time. Out boxing Loma is the last thing I see Campbell doing.

He doesn't but I do think he has the ability to compete with Lomachenko

Yea right Brook at least put up a fight and he was outsized.

This will be like Calzaghe vs that manfredo bum.

Campbell will do better than Brook IMO but it doesn’t matter anyway.

Sky/Matchroom are trying to convince the casuals Campbell is a legitimate threat to Loma when in reality he evidently isn’t. They done the exact same during GGG-Brook

The only response to this thread should be "No, he doesn't".

I'm a Brit, and a fan of Campbell, but even I don't think that Campbell's talent level and ring IQ are higher than Loma's.
But he does have enough of both that, if used properly in conjunction with his height, reach and likely on-night weight advantages he could upset Loma. Campbell will need his best performance and maybe a slightly under performing Loma, but far less plausible things have happened in this sport.
If both are on top form we should be in for a cracking fight, but probably a competitive loss on the cards for Campbell.
