  • Comments Thread For: Inoue-Donaire WBSS Finals Clash Eyed For November

Naoya Inoue is hopeful the biggest fight of his career to date is also a family affair. The unbeaten pound-for-pound entrant and reigning bantamweight titlist is awaiting final confirmation of a date and location for his title unification clash versus Nonito Donaire. The bout serves as the finals of the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight tournament, with the event being targeted for November according to Ohashi Promotions, who made the claim during a press conference Thursday in Inoue's hometown of Yokohoma, Japan.

they are going to make donaire fight the final in his opponent's back yard? that makes it even harder for the older donaire they should be fair and put the final in a neutral site! wbss need to announce the cruiserweight final as well! I would put them both on the same card!

Judges wont matter. Inoue will knock Donaire out cold.

The Inoue Brothers will be making history simultaneously reigning as co-champions at the bantamweight division if Takuma upsets Nordine Oubaali for the WBC bantamweight title in the same night.

The Kyocera Dome in Osaka holds a capacity of 55,000, this would be the biggest crowd that the Inoue brothers and maybe even Nonito Donaire have ever entertained. It makes sense that the WBSS would want this fight at this particular venue, I hope ESPN+ picks it up for us in America.

This is a superfight, a real boxing fan’s fight. Im so excited for this one especially because it’s between two of my favorites and I always predicted and hoped that these two guys would face each other in the finals.

Donaire cannot be overlooked given that he is accustomed to getting hit by bigger fighters and Inoue has never faced a true puncher .

Donaire was losing the first fight when his opponent tore his abdomen muscles. Then his second fight was against a bum who had one week's notice. His luck has run out. Inoue is gonna put him in a morgue.

No way should this fight be in Japan! This is a major World sporting event & should be fought on neutral ground, as should all WBSS fights.

This is the downside to the WBSS, I hope it gets sorted out and doesn't end up going down as a failed pipe-dream.
I along with most love the idea of the best boxers fighting each other in a tournament; but there is always the chance of injuries, promotion/management disputes and issues with financial backing causing delays. Last season's CW's went as smoothly as it possibly could, everything else has had problems to some extent.
