  • Comments Thread For: Frank Warren Reflects on Daniel Dubois Big Win Over Gorman

IT WAS PROBABLY a sporting weekend like no other. From the relentless brilliance of Lewis Hamilton setting a record for British Grand Prix wins, to the majesty of Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer pulling strokes at Wimbledon, to England's swashbuckling cricket team snatching victory from the jaws of defeat in the most dramatic fashion imaginable to win a first world cup.

What is it with Brits liking cricket and racing? Awful sports, they have so many awesome ones too.

Okay as a traditionalist I can accept the Southern Area & English title's. However the WBC Youth & WBO Euro bauble's are complete B/S. There's only one Euro title & that's the EBU belt. As for the WBC Youth ****le, I thought that a Youth was someone under 18 or 21 depending on where you are. I've seen boxer's well over those age's fight for this phoney trinket, so what gives? I'm a Fan of DDD's & hope he goes on to win the Lonsdale belt out-right & add the genuine European title & Commonwealth belt on his way forward.

I would never normally enjoy cricket but Sunday’s final was genuinely the most exciting game of cricket ever

Cricket is a similar premise to Baseball; fun sports to play, but god-awful to watch without an endless supply of beer.

Baseball never appealed to me too, it belongs in the league of golf and cricket in terms of watchability.

The one good thing about all 3 in terms of watchability; they all take so long and have so many niche possibilities that it's easy to turn into a drinking game.
But no beer - no chance.

Watching any sport is enhanced by drinking but if drinking is the only good part then it isn't a proper sport.
