Comments Thread For: Hatton: Joshua Beats Andy Ruiz Nine Out of Ten Times!

Former world champion turned trainer, Ricky Hatton, is very confident that Anthony Joshua is capable of getting his revenge when he takes on Andy Ruiz at the end of the year. In the wake of suffering his first career defeat, Joshua exercised an immediate rematch clause.

Except for that 1/10 fight that actually mattered. Tired of everybody making excuses for Joshua. Joshua had Andy on the canvas. He tried to finish him off as any boxer is trained to do. Joshua got caught in a nice exchange where Ruiz slip his power shots and countered. That punch that Andy landed would have buckled any fighter in the heavyweight division. When you have the amateur pedigree that Andy has those shots are supposed to land where you place them.

He lost to him 1 out of 1 times. Good luck with the rest of your calculations.

Hatton also could have beaten Pacquiao 9/10 times in his opinion.

Because Ruiz does the same move every time, right?

Hatton lost me as a fan when he retired after that fight. He lost to Mayweather and Pacquiao and gave it up! That's not a fighter. Also Pacman said after the fight that he won on a tell. You'd think he would have at least tried again.

As for Joshua - I genuinely don't know at the moment. I'd say he wins 5 out of 10 times for the time being. He's not going to be dumb enough to swing standing next to Ruiz the next time at least but he still got a terrible chin and recovery and Ruiz is faster.

IF, and it's a big if, AJ keeps Ruiz on the outside of his jab for 12 rounds without being agressive, he can win a boring but clear decision. But I don't think Ruiz will allow that to happen. In the first fight, Ruiz occasionally jumped on AJ, getting inside, and let his hands go. And he has lots of success when he does that. So truth be told, I think it's a 50/50 rematch. Makes for great boxing.

I think it was the booze and ******* that retired him more than losing to the two best. He was getting Fury fat between fights by the end.

Many Brits seem to be a bit delusional about their boxers, boxing history and boxing talent. This is just another example.
