The lean junior flyweight titlist from Puerto Rico thought he was in the clear following a 3rd round knockdown, but ultimately fell prey to a late rush by Mexico's Elwin Soto. The fight ended in stunning-and controversial-fashion, as Soto scored a 12th round stoppage to win the 108-pound crown Friday evening at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif.

Was a good fight I thought it was close going into that final round but the ref made the call Soto had him out on his feet and I felt the knockout was going to come but would like to see a rematch was a good pace and Soto was landing some nice body shots I think that took its toll a bit should be plenty of people complaining about the stoppage pretty soon lol.

I can see why the ref stopped the fight. His arms were hanging in mid air. It looked like he wasn't protecting himself for a split second so the ref made the call right then and there even though Acosta recovered quickly right after the ref stepped in.

Reminded me of the castillo corrales stoppage with a little bit of amir khan arms hanging in the midair after getting caught.
