  • Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Not Banks' Fault Golovkin Wasn't A Different Fighter

LAS VEGAS Abel Sanchez didn't watch Gennadiy Golovkin's first fight without him in nine years. While Golovkin was busy knocking out Steve Rolls on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, Sanchez was out to dinner with his wife. The 37-year-old Golovkin's former trainer wasn't the least bit surprised to hear, however, that Golovkin didn't look much different than usual during his first fight with his new trainer, Johnathon Banks, in his corner.

It's your fault that Golovkin abandoned his Olympic skills and fought like a caveman all those years. It caught up to him at the highest level.

It's common sense. Fighters need time in order to gel with a new trainer.

The changes can't be ingrained overnight.

Yeah and fools want Canelo next! I’m down for the easy money though.

Abel Sanchez-" Jonathan Banks was Emmanuel Stewart's butler , he can't change Gennady. Golovkin has the coward gene embedded into his DNA , he was scared of CANELO, he ran from him , that wasn't the game plan. Even after I told him in the corner , we're losing , he ran some more. He owes me money but most importantly, he owes the fan's."

            Abel is a contradicting mofo
Abel and his wife went for the early bird special and set the dvr
Who the fugh would trust him again after all the chit he’s been talking about his former fighter
Says nothing changed and fighter went back to his old ways then continues to say that more time is needed
I say no chit Sherlock , time to move on and chit on someone else

How long is Sanchez gonna be salty that Golovkin sacked him? This behaviour is not attracting new fighters.

In fairness I listened to the interview and he was level-headed. He simply said that a fighter who has been fighting the same way for a number of years would need more than a few months to change.

                    Definitely.
I did notice that he saw most of the punches coming and rolled with them. He showed an economy of motion. That might be something he's developing with Banks.

I didn't like that he was eventually wading through punches in order to find big shots. That's something he's always done and it's a really bad practice.
