He’s looked dreadful in about 5 fights in a row. Either too drained, not bothered or just not very good each time. Hopefully it’s just the weak opposition demotivating him

Before the May 2018 Yafai/Carmona fight, Hearn turned down a fight between Yafai and Inoue in Dec 2017, trying to get a fight with Gonzalez instead (who had just lost twice to Rungvisai), then when that couldn't be made, he swerved Cuadras.....ending up with Carmona as a 'tune-up' ahead of Ancajas.

So then Yafai/Carmona and Ancajas/Sultan fought last May, the question at the time was 'why the eff aren't they fighting each other ?'. The answer seemed to be 'marination - get them on the same card, build it up, and have them fight next'. So we got the marination, but not the fight.

So Yafai says of Ancajas 'but they didn’t seem to be up for it at all', but back in February it was reported:

'Yafai and Hearn have never shown a great deal of interest in putting together fights against Ancajas and Rungvisai for some reason' (Estrada has Rungvisai's belt now of course). We suspect the 'some reason' being money again.

So then Yafai is talking unification with Nietes, then the WBA wades in and we get a mandatory purse bid for...Jimenez.

Now Yafai is talking Estrada post-Jimenez. A lot of talk, not much unifying.
